Located adjacent to the village of Humula on a sealed road some 22km from the dual carriage Hume Highway at Tarcutta. The highway provides freeway access to Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne and to the regional city of Wagga Wagga north west and Albury/Wodonga south west.
The soils consist predominantly of alluvial soils along the creek flats to rich loams and granite on the rises. Soil fertility is evident from the riparian stands of yellow, grey and apple box and white gum.
Improved perennial pastures cover approximately 370ha of the holding and pasture mixes include phalaris, rye, white and sub clovers. In addition there are 337ha of mixted native and annual pastures with 140ha hectares of well sheltered grazing country with native summer grasses.
Watering stock is based on multiple supply and delivery options, including 5km of double frontage to the Umbango Creek, 3 paddocks access the creek directly. A network of 18 troughs are linked to the 60 megalitre lake centrally located on the property and two 90,000 litre tanks that are fed by a solar pump from the lake and an electric bore. The Humula Station homestead has a lovely setting on the Umbango Creek with a north easterly aspect to the living area. The homestead comprises three bedrooms and two bathrooms, open plan kitchen living area, sitting room, formal dining/billiard room, office, large laundry and boot room. For grain storage there are two Kotzur 50t silos on concrete pads, there is a steel framed hayshed located near the cattle yards with capacity for 200 bales. In addition there is pit silage capacity for 1,200 bales or 840 tonnes.
