Glossop is a small township in the Riverland region, situated midway between Berri and Barmera-roughly 8 km west of Berri and 7 km east of Barmera, located on the Old Sturt Highway.
It was gazetted in 1921 as part of a soldier settlement initiative after World War I and was named in honor of Admiral Glossop, commander of HMAS Sydney during its sinking of SMS Emden in 1914.
