Central to the township is Stan Camm park with children’s playground and Bbq where the Midge Point local markets are held monthly. The local residents support and operate the Midge Point Rural Fire Service, SES and Progress Association. The town is located only 20 minutes drive from the Whitsunday Coast Airport which provides daily flights to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Proserpine is 25 minutes drive and Airlie Beach is approximately 40 minutes. Town water and NBN are available in the area.

The local school at Bloomsbury is only 15 minutes drive and is serviced by school bus. The schools in Proserpine also provide a bus service for Midge Point. Bloomsbury also provides a service station, take away, bottle shop, grocery and produce store.
