We live about 200m away from Moggill Road near the Kenmore Tavern, and noise from it isn't an issue for us. Obviously, though, if you are close to the road it is a pretty busy one and noise would be an issue. It's not much used by big trucks or similar.

Wrong. Big trucks do use Moggill road, and they don't care that it is a residential area when they use engine braking. The other more recent noise problem is an increase in very noisy motorcycles. These bikes clearly have modified exhaust systems and are becoming a nuisance.

Ive lived in the area for nearly a decade and seldom see them except for ones delivering to Woolies to restock them? The big trucks tend to use Ipswich road and then the centenary highway. Maybe some larger delivery trucks come to the area at times but yeah I commute daily and never really see them. How curious. Where would these larger trucks be coming from or going to in order to use moggill road at Kenmore rather than centenary highway/western freeway which was intended as the route for them?

Hi Andy,

It depends how far up you are on Moggill Road. Generally the stretch from Toowong through to Chapel Hill carries a little bit of noise during peak hours if your property is right on the main drag. If you are up further toward Brookfield and Moggill - even during peak hour there is limited traffic and noise is kept to a minimum.
