The island Julia Robert’s missed out on is up for sale.

Julia Robert’s, one of Hollywood’s mega stars with a bank account to match missed out on her dream property eight years ago. Robert’s had eyed off 1 Turtle Street, Port Curtis, in the tropics of Queensland but missed out on the 23.25 acre island at the last minute when the current owners went beyond her budget, but Robert’s and other A-List stars may be licking their lips as Turtle Island is back on the market.
The island that Julia Roberts so desperately wanted, is now for sale.
Arrive and leave via your personal jetty.
Turtle Island looks towards the Great Barrier Reef, with surrounding islands Heron Island, Lady Musgrave, and Lady Elliot coral cays less than an hour from your own private jetty. But what other features does this island offer?
A fully functional guest wing.
What’s the point of having an island if you don’t spread out? Turtle Island has a guest wing that has three fully functional bedrooms, that provide more of a resort vibe than anything else. Each room comes with its own verandah, and views that are never ending. This ensures that everyone who visits can feel like they are on vacation and enjoy their own little slice of paradise across the 23 acres.
An entertainers paradise.
This home is definitely for those who love to entertain, the agent states ‘This has one of the largest kitchens that I have ever seen, with enough cooking and preparation area that could cater for the biggest celebrity party or just enough for that hungry family.’ We can already envisage christmas time here, with the family gathered around the table and one epic meal to match!
Oh, and if the entertainment section wasn’t enough, there are various levels of temperate fridges, one for the Champagne or Beer, the other for your general goods and then there’s the freezer for all the ice and other frozen goods. Really there won’t be a reason to leave, ever.
A perfect getaway.
The best thing about this gorgeous island is that it can serve both as a home and also a tropical destination getaway. Surrounding the eastern side of this opulent home is a wide veranda that has enough room for the largest outside furniture and BBQ. We can already imagine a few beach umbrellas and an outdoor bar being set up in order to keep everyone happy. But the views from this long wide timber veranda are picture postcard quality and will do all the entertaining you need really.
After a day of long lunches and lying in the sun, you will be able to finish it off in the in-ground pool, situated near the guest wing end and overlooks the ocean. The perfect place to wallow in whilst sipping cocktails and watching the moon rise and sunset.
Interested?
Well, so are we. There is no word on how much the asking price for the island is, but kudos to Richard Vanhoff from Coldwell Banker on getting the listing, and best of luck finding a buyer, we can’t imagine you will have a shortage of enquiries!
