6 interior design trends set to be big in 2018

With a new year comes new trends and interior design is no exception! 1. Window seating.

In 2018, it’s all about self-care at home and where better than a comfy window seat to get your much deserved daily dose of ‘me time’. The best part is that it’s totally up to you how you spend it. Perhaps you’ll be simply watching the world go by while catching some rays, getting stuck into a good book or even zenning out with a super restorative meditation session.

2. Wall Art.

This year, bare walls are simply gallery walls waiting to happen! In 2018 it’s a case of go big or go home (at home). So gather all your favourite paintings, illustrations and photography, a few quirky frames (or washi tape if you want to mix up framed and non-framed images) and get creative to showcase your very own art collection. The more the better.

3. The colour sage.

Say goodbye to the white and blue-y greys of 2017 and hello to sage this year! In 2018, this greyish green shade is the NEW neutral. It’s easy to understand why as this perfect tone blends seamlessly with just about anything. Walls, ceilings, soft furnishings, there are plenty of ways to incorporate some refreshing sage shades into your interior.

Yes, this is the next big thing and it’s taking the world by storm. 5. Terracotta and terrazzo tiles.

While our general obsession with tiles has been going on for a while, 2018 is all about terrazzo and terracotta. Firstly, forget everything (you thought) you knew about these two styles. Now think about the million ways you could integrate terrazzo and terracotta into your interior (floors, walls and even lighting). Not ready to take the plunge? Dip your toe into this palette by incorporating terracotta shades into soft furnishings. We bet you’ll be painting (and tiling) in no time.

6. Indoor jungle.

Proven to be good for your health as well as pretty to the eye, in 2018 you need to get your hands on indoor foliage There are plenty of options out there even for those who don’t have a green thumb! Monstera, devil’s ivy or succulents actually thrive on neglect.
