driving to city

We are thinking of moving to Lugarno. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to drive to the city (Sydney CBD)? I can see that the train at Riverwood is a good option, but I really want to know what the drive time at peak hour is like.

Hi Canary,
My best advice would be stick with train,
Two hours would not be an unreasonable estimation by car peak hour by the M5 motorway or better known as the M5 carpark to the city.

Hi Canary,

2770 is right! Seriously outside of peak hour you would expect to be able to get to the city in 30min? From Lugarno, but peak hour is another thing I think it could take 2 hours on the m5, that’s not an exaggeration at all

Thanks Adam,
It's unfortunate that in the year 2011 we don't have decent public transport so our roads can't handle the overload of cars,
I have been contacting state politicians for some time now asking why they have not looked at the viability of bullet trains or the like for the state,
I live in the Mt. Druitt area and we should be able to get to the city by train within 20 mins.
It just falls on deaf ears though,
they're quite happy for our public transport system to remain in the 1980's era.
I fail to see what difference adding an extra lane each way to the m5 will achieve.

With the motorway you can get there in 30 mins but you need to get to the M5 from Lugarno so add another 10-15 mins.
