Reviews of McCubbin Terrace, Doncaster East
"Great street to grow up in"
I've lived in McCubbin Terrace for about 10 years. The street is part of the Milgate Estate, which is a large park area with a whole lot of streets built around it. All of those streets have "private" access to the park (which includes tennis courts, basketball court (small), footy oval, playgrounds, lots of trees and open areas etc.). It would be a great place to raise kids.
McCubbin Terrace is right near the tennis courts and basketball court. It never gets too busy, although you do have people driving down the street to get to the courts. There is a small carpark down the bottom of the street for these people to park. The carpark comes in very hand when you're having a few people over.
There's no trains or trams in the area, which can get a little annoying if you're trying to get into the city quickly and you don't have a car. But, there are buses about 500m away and they are quite good.
There's a strip of shops (doctors, bakery, restaurants, chemist) about 1km away which is always pretty handy. We do our grocery shopping at Tunstall Square, but you can also go to The Pines or Doncaster Shoppingtown which are both close and big shopping centres.
About the neighbours, we don't really see them that much, but they all seem nice. There's certainly not a problem with noisy neighbours or anything like that.
Overall, this is a great place to raise a family, but it's a bit far from the action for singles or couples.
