"Redneck Town"

I lived in McDowall since 1981. Back then there were no rednecks. About 20 years later, many rednecks moved in to McDowall from the south. Just be a little different and the local impostors will pick on you. McDowall is the Redneck Capitol of Australia. Rednecks drive like maniacs. McDowall is flooded with rednecks, traffic and apartments (rat boxes).
Pros
  • Beautiful parklands and bike trails
Cons
  • Rednecks, Racists, Bogan Capitol

"Mcdowall, why the north side is the bomb!"

When my wife and I moved to McDowell what we were struck by is the small town attitude of the suburb. Very friendly people and good community spirit. There are lots of parks within walking distance including dog off leash areas. Local shopping is a bit limited but all basic needs are met and cherside is just down the road. We loved living here but alas I was relocated due to work I no longer live there. Highly recommend McDowall to families and people that love doing stuff outdoors.

"Glendora Estate - the small leafy friendly village"

The smaller Glendora Estate is beautifully situated and has all of the advantages of city living without the downside. Great location for whatever stage of your life. Plenty of public transport, schools, parklands etc.
Also a new medical centre, dentistry and 24 hour gym have just opened in the main shopping hub which is a mere 5 minute walk away for whatever you need and additionally there is easy access to Chermside shopping centre with the opening of Hamilton road which makes McDowall simply a great easy place to live.

"Wonderful Family Neighbourhood"

I have just moved to Mcdowall after liveing in nearby suburbs for the last 20 years and my wife always wanting to buy here and to be honest I never really saw what she did.
Now that we have bought here I wonder why I ever waited. We just love the area. The people are friendly and respect your privacy while just as happy to say hi and have a chat.
