Reviews of Melrose Park, SA

"Family Friendly Living"

Why do I love Melrose Park? Within the first week of moving in, we had 5 neighbours come over and introduce themselves which was nice. Everybody is very friendly and happy to help each other. The streets are clean and feel very safe at all hours. In the morning, you see many kids and families walking to Edwardstown Primary which is highly regarded and the suburb is now zoned to Unley High. Winston Avenue is a great link to the city but also has fantastic cafe's and ammenities which are easy to walk to, with Castle Plaza and Cumberland Park shopping centres nearby. The blocks and homes are spacious, with many older homes being purchased by young professionals and families whom are purchasing and renovating or updating which is giving the suburb a premium feel as it constantly improves. A similar lifestyle to surrounding suburbs like Colonel Light Gardens, but far more affordable. I prefer living in Melrose Park to living in St Peters, Torrens Park and Parkside which are considered to be some of Adelaide's most highly regarded suburbs.

"Great place to live"

Melrose Park is a great place close to the city and the sea. Mitcham Shopping Centre and Marion and Glenelg are within 10-15 mins. Beck's Bakery is iconic - everyone knows where it is and there are often queues outside the shop. We also have the Woofery (dog bakery). There are parks all over the suburb. It is an older area with a mixture of young and old, the neighbourhood is relatively quiet. Castle Plaza is a local shopping centre which is currently expanding (banks, cafes, chemist, fruit n veg, Target, Coles, Foodland, clothes/footwear shops, beautician, jewellery, hotel, etc) and Melrose Plaza opened recently which has all sorts in it. Unley Road, King William Road and Goodwood Road eateries are literally up the road. Transport is easily accessible. There's also Big W and Woolworths nearby.

"Great place to live"

What a beautiful suburb we have, lots of parks, close to South Road, Cross Road and Goodwood Road for all our shopping needs. Quiet, leafy and green, with a mix of young and old...close to all facilities, no matter what you are after! A great place to live...
