There are a couple "medical districts" in Chicago- Northwestern Hospitals are located in the Streeterville neighborhood, part of Chicago's Near North side. Rush is located in Chicago's Near West Side. Streeterville is known for its plentiful condos and proximity to the Magnificent Mile, Chicago River, and Lake Michigan. The near west side includes historic "Little Italy", the UIC campus and proximity to I-290 (The Eisenhower); there are many historic 2-flats, and it's less densely populated than Streeterville. Both are great places to live!
