Hi there, I wonder if anyone might be able to help with some information. My mother in law recently died and on looking at her collected papers we found 2 letters. They were from a hospital The Prince Henry Auxiliary Randwick. Sydney informing her mother, Mrs Jennie Russell, that her husband had died there on 2nd March 1936, and that he was interred on 3rd March 1936 by Sydney Funeral Directors Ltd, at the congretaional section, Field of Mars Cemetary at the request of what looks like A Mc Donald. The second letter we found was signed by the medical superintendent at the same hospital, saying that "Christopher Robert Russell", had been admitted to the hospital on 14th February 1935, suffering from TB, and that his condition was critical and that he would die soon. All of this is such a mystery as when my husband asked his grandmother and his mother about his grandfather, they always refused to give him any information even his name. We found marriage certificates etc among the papers so we know that this was my husbands grandfather. My husband is now pretty desperate to know how his grandfather came to be in Sydney, and if there is a headstone on his grave, or even what the cemetary is like, The reason for this post is that at the bottom of the letter informing of his death, it states that he had a sister in law, Mrs Hughes of 26 Foy Street Balmain. Please could anyone shed any light on this as my husband would dearly love to have some answers about his grandfather. We live in the UK, so it is difficult for us to find out anything. Thank You
