Where would you live? Whats your dream property?

If you had an endless amount of funds where and what would you buy in Australia? With so many options, beach, country and CBD I am interested in hearing where you would like t buy. If you wish to be specific please link your dream house so we can see exactly what you want =)

An endless supply of money is not what buys a "dream " property for many, many people. A more expensive property does not necessarily mean greater happiness. We live in such a well to do nation that dream properties exist in almost every geographical location. Because people are soooooooo different, a "dream" property for one person may not be a "dream" property for another person: There's a WHOLE lot more to it than just how much money a property costs. My dream property would be on the NSW mid north coast, with 2 acres anywhere between Dunbogan and Harrington and as close as possible to Crowdy Bay National Park; yes, that would be Heaven on Earth. Pure bliss!

I'd be there right now, except business keeps me away. I'll be retiring early, probably in two years time, then spending the next 30/40 years or so in my dream location. The kids have now left home so my wife and I are now freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !

Thanks Johnxxx and Martia I think we all agree. My dream place = a house as close to the beach as possible in Byron Bay! Martia: I have dogs two and would be so awesome to walk, toss the ball, frisbee and or swim with them along Belongil beach where they allow dogs. Any shack would do for me and my partner and our two puppies =)

Hi Peter thanks for replying.I think Byron Bay is a wee bit out of our price range.
So much of the NSW Coast is unknown to us...but will have to have a good look,I know Old Bar and Port Mcquarie, hope to check out Callula Bay and Smiths Lakes as the prices there seem reasonable.

We have a Golden Retriever and two Lumbering Clumber Spaniels much loved! boy would they love it as well.

So you are both free of the children .....and you have two dogs ???? you think lol.

Now that my husband and I are empty nesters, we are looking to upgrade but not downsize. We yearn for a lovely renovated home with a great never-to-be-built-out waterview but NOT a waterfront where one often loses privacy. I am looking at areas like Oatley, Connells Point or Kangaroo Point (Georges River) or Dolans Bay or Lilli Pilli (overlooking the lovely blue waters of Pittwater). Ideally, we want ZERO yard to maintain (definitely NO swimming pool) but still want 4 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms plus study to house the grandchildren. We want a modern home with open-plan kitchen/dining and family area but with a separate formal dining and lounge room complete with waterview. Our wish list extends to a Media Room. Ideally, the home would be on one level OR, if two levels, all the living areas and the master bedroom (with ensuite) will be located downstairs and the 3 bedrooms and full bathroom located upstairs - in this way, we can do all our living downstairs. Aaaaaah! Dream home, where are you?
