Madoff under house arrest

Madoff under house arrest
So Bernard Madoff was placed under 24 hour house arrest today - and is being forced to pay for it.
Sheesh things are just so tough!
Previously, with electronic monitoring, he was allowed out of the apartment. But no more.
Well, I guess 50 billion or so would be comfortable anywhere.
Apparently this was ordered not only to keep him from fleeing, but for his protection.
So are things too mean for the old guy? Or just getting the party started?

I guess we can sit back and scoff about the conditions of his house arrest. Whilst it does seem lenient I do understand the gut wrenching feelings that those people who have been affected by his bad business habits must have. Profits are good when they come in, but nevertheless when it goes pear shaped, as this has done, then that can be really bad , especially when you rely on that income to support you in later life. Even if he eventually receives a lengthy jail time, its of little comfort to those that have lost everything.

Guess this is why the house arrest is for his protection!
