MELBOURNE, VIC – March 26, 2020

In an update from its Co-CEOs Jason and Adam Spencer earlier this week, Homely reassured agents all around Australia that their listings will remain on the website for unlimited days until sold or leased on both their free and Platinum packages.

“This isn’t a new policy for us. Our core mission is to help the real estate industry, and we want to assure you this will remain not only throughout this challenging time but into the coming months and years ahead,” Adam Spencer, Homely’s Co-CEO says.

In light of Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s Phase Two restrictions calling for public inspections and in-person auctions to cease to limit the spread of coronavirus, Homely realises agents will be faced with numerous challenges when it comes to the way they sell and lease homes over the coming weeks.

“We’ve been speaking with the biggest agencies in the country and listened to how their business needs have changed overnight. We are going to be evolving right alongside with them by introducing a host of new features and changes to our platform,” Adam says.

Changes coming include:

  • Enabling consumers to sort listings by Virtual Tours.
  • Prominent Virtual Tours indicator to signify homes with video tours available.
  • One of Homely’s most consumer requested data points ‘days on market’ is temporarily suspended. This data is most likely to be heavily skewed in the coming months.
  • Prominent consumer-friendly guidelines for inspection procedures.

“Listing properties on Homely is one thing agents can ‘set and forget’ while they feel out this new way of doing business and know that their properties will be getting excellent exposure,” Adam explains.

“We want agents to know that in this rapidly changing marketplace, Homely’s enduring unlimited days on market policy and new website features will enable them to continue doing what they do best: selling and leasing out properties,” Adam says.
