What is meant by "pest free" when filling out surveys about the neighborhoods?

I'm seeing the option "pest free" for the surveys about neighborhoods and I don't really understand what is meant by "pest free"? Does it mean no rats seen in the area?

It refers to how pest free the area is. So if an area is rated 5 stars for pest free, then it means there are no bugs or rodents in the neighborhood.
