Reviews of Ottoway, SA

"Definately an up and coming suburb - Large blocks, great access and central location!"

I have lived in Ottoway for the last 3.5 years and love it! The streets are generally wide and accessible and maintained. Many run down houses have now been demolished and rebuilt with large modern houses that have retained the large blocks. Older properties are being renovated and extended. It is such a good access to the City (25mins) Beach (5-10 mins) and Barossa (45 mins). It is also very close to the new St Clair development which includes modern shops, parks and playgrounds, plus you don't have to pay St Clair prices! Highly recommended.

Great for

  • Close to the new St Clair development
  • Affordable and still relatively unknown
  • Easy access to the beach, city and Barossa

"Good suburb, nice and quiet"

I've lived here for two years now and think it's a great suburb to live in. Very quiet. Neighbours are great. Never had any problems.

"Wonderfull and quiet area to live."

Hi we have been living in ottoway since i was a child, about 30 plus years. We have raised children in the area with wonderfull neigbours that help you when in need. With a big thankyou to mike from better recycleing for his support for our familys in the street. In regards to the young affrican children with the stabbing this can happen in any area and any shopping center. These were children of the same race once again one in a thousand incident. As other nationalitys in the area there hasnt been any problems and seem to get along. The park in the area is one of the best things along with the vietnamese celibrations, primary school, bus stop on eastern parade, shopping center in roswater, closest chemist in rosewater, doctors, dentist close by.Happy resident.

"A good start, but not for the long term"

been in the area from 2002-2010, and its been our first house and a good start for us. most of the blocks are deep in size and accommodate well for dogs/ families. there is a large oval reserve and swing sets for kids.

we have lovely neighbors ranging from Australian, Italian, Greek and Vietnamese families, all very friendly and familiy oriented.

the brick place on the corner does produce alot of airborne dust and silt, thus you are constantly sweeping up red-brown dust. and the internet speed is quite slow and drop out alot (unfortunately too far from the exchange in Port Adelaide) also, the area has been known for some interracial fights, two incidents last year (2009) involving knifes.
