After comments on airfield & motorway noise, flooding & sewerage treat smell?

It really depends which part of Oxley you are talking about. Yes, the low level areas of Oxley flooded in 1974 and 2011 – as a basic guide, anything East of Oxley Road is at risk, and some areas on the immediate West of Oxley Road. There is some minor flooding (water on road) that happens about once a year at the roundabout on Oxley Road/Oxley Station Road, but doesn’t affect houses. You can hear the motorway some nights – but it’s not loud and you can hear it all the way to Sherwood some evenings! I have a colleague who lives on the hill behind Oxley Station which is directly in the flight path for Archerfield – apart from the occasional low flying one, she barely notices the planes. If you’re concerned about flooding, you can check the Brisbane City Council’s Floodwise Property Report – on their website, you can check any property address in Brisbane for ground levels and flood risk.
Thanks Russell, we were thinking of looking into building in new Parkvue estate. They say it's built up to be above flood levels, but heard Oxley Road closes in floods. BCC shows water through there but dont think that covers new works completed. Found BCC site bit confusing, shows most properties as Medium risk with now water near by and where water is shown it doesn't show depth, as your say, water on road & minor so ok.
