What is the Dept of primary industries fire ant control centre?

Hey there,

To the best of my knoledge, this centre is deticted to controlling fire ants. I found on
google that they hold fire ant general awareness training sessions that are
held at the Biosecurity Queensland Control Centre in Oxley. The sessions are
designed for businesses and government bodies on Approved Risk Management
Plans (ARMPs) or those interested in being on ARMPs, as well as anyone wishing to
become a volunteer fire ant ranger.

interested parties, groups or individuals are also welcome to attend.

the sessions cover general fire ant presentation - covers fire ant impacts, identification, behaviour, the biosecurity Queensland eradication program, movement controls and how the community can help. there is a surveillance activity outside the training room, so please bring a long stick/rod (min.1 metre) and wear appropriate footwear

brochures, posters and other materials for participants
viewing specimens of live fire ants, preserved nests and bait
certificate given at the end of the session.
