There are a few places that folks should get a chance to see, but most do not realize they exist in this historical city.

Magic Garden, on South Street, is a mosaic masterpiece essential to the Philadelphia community. The "garden" has more glass tiling than flowerbeds, however, It is a beauty to behold and worth the visit.

Joseph Fox Bookshop, on Samson Street in Rittenhouse Square, has an overflowing collection of books in a very, very small space. You can find everything from books on architecture to books on poetry. While the store is teeny, the amount of books in the shop make it an interesting place to stop by.

Whispering Benches, down the block from Memorial Hall, are a part of the Smith Memorial Arch. This structure boasts stone benches where 2 people can sit on the far ends of the 50 foot bench, can whisper to one another, yet still be heard clearly.

Philadelphia Doll Museum, on Broad Street's Avenue of the Arts, is the only museum in the country dedicated to the collection and preservation of black dolls. The museum shows how black people were perceived throughout history.

Mutter Museum, on 22nd Street not far from the Schuylkill Expressway, is a very unique medical museum. If you are a lover of bones, this collection of medical rarities is sure to peak your interests. Founded by Thomas Dent Mutter.
