What neighborhood should I move to in Sacramento?

Interested in renting apartments. Needs to be affordable and close to public transportation. I will also have 2 cats with me.

Midtown would fit your needs, and they love cats. other areas that are not bad are east sacramento, land park, south land park, hollywood park, west sacramento. if you like suburbia try Elk Grove or Roseville.
