Buying a house in Point Breeze - what is the area like?

If this was several years ago, I would have told you that you may want to try to find a home elsewhere due to the neighborhoods crime issues. However, under South Philly's new City Council Representative, the neighborhood is becoming a promising place to live. The architecture , as well as growing businesses, make Point Breeze one of Philadelphia's new ideal places. Streets have been cleaned up and the crime rate has dropped a lot in recent years. As the years progress, it will quite possibly get to the point that Point Breeze is a premiere living district and property values will go through the roof.
