McLaren Park is probably the best kid friendly park in Portola, San Francisco. It has about five elementary schools nestled up against it and it also has a pool on the southern end and a bunch of sports fields over by Crocker Amazon. It is great for hiking and not as used as parks like Golden Gate Park.
