Is commuting daily from Red Hook to Albany feasible?

You could do it, but it would be a haul. If you drove, you'd take 87 North (New York Thruway) to 787 North, then exit 23 to Downtown Albany, and normally it would take you about an hour and 10 minutes. However, rush hour traffic around Albany can tie you up for a good long time. An alternative would be to drive to Kingston, about 20 minutes away, and take an Adirondack Trails bus, which takes about an hour to get to Albany; at least then you could get some work or reading done while you commute. At last count, a single round trip ticket was $26.50.
