Hi Kristin: I'm a cyclist too--I love riding in the City. SF is very bike-friendly. There are more and more bike lanes being added all the time on major commuting routes. Numbers of commuters on bikes and recreational cyclists are growing daily. Most of the time you will find a route with minimal climbing. If not, most city buses have bike racks and BART allow bikes on trains.

Good to know! I am a baby when it comes to hills. :)

San Francisco Hills are world class. So steep they can feel more like a wall if you stand at the bottom. But we love them. Our hills lend the city character and culture and add value to our real estate. From the top we have views to rival any on the planet. From the bottom, they keep us fit and keep our driving skills sharp. Our hills are as much a part of San Francisco as the Golden Gate Bridge, fog, and the bay. If you don't love San Francisco steepness yet, you will learn to.

So, as a sometimes-bike commuter, I gotta ask - how do other bike commuters feel about that? Haha.
