I know of a few dog-friendly beaches in SF. There is one in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which I think is the best. You'll find a lot of dogs here. Other options are Crissy Field (up north by the bay, which has a small beach) or Ocean Beach, which is far west in SF.
