help with buying Real Estate in San Francisco

I've got a little spare cash at the moment and thought I would get an opinion on buying a place in SF or simply leaving my money under my matress (not literally). Everyone knows the market is in the stink, but I have no idea whether or not buying a small house, invest in stock etc etc.

Is it a good time to invest in real estate? Or should I wait or a few years until all the mess blows over and the market picks up? pls help

Bush's recent disturbing predictions on the economy for a 700 BILLION dollar bailout… IMHO ~ I would hold tight on making any unnecessary purchases at this time. What do you think?

After what has happened regarding this tremendous bailout and if I had extra cash, I would seek professional financial advice but I would most certainly hold tight on making any unnecessary purchases.

Hi mileykelly,

How'd you go with the decision to buy? While im not an economist, I don't think it takes a genius to understand that holding onto your money for the short term is the safest investment.

I do however think there is a BUCKETLOAD of money to be made right now. The markets will bounce back, eventually. The key is make sure you don't buy in too early.
