Any Seattleite can tell you that 3rd Ave in downtown Seattle is by far the worst area in Seattle. In fact, the block just between Pine / Pike has had the most violent crime of any block in the entire city! Police stats will confirm this. However, during the day downtown is not all that dangerous - just after all the shops close, really. The other "worst" spots in Seattle as far as crime goes would be N Aurora, Rainier and MLK.

The Seattle police department maintains crime stats by zip code. There is crime as in car theft and there is CRIME as in rape and shootings. So you can get the numbers in each category.
