SOMA is a good place to live if you are single, so long as you have the money to afford it. It is, from what I understand, pretty expensive. However, if you do have the money, renting an apartment in SOMA can really be amazing. You are right in the middle of the action here, with all the museums, bars and movie theaters in SOMA and the Financial District, North Beach, the Wharf and Chinatown just to the north, and the Mission to the south. Really it is an amazing spot. If you can swing it, I would recommend it.
