Reviews of Fraser, ACT
"Peace and quiet"
Fraser is a quiet suburb ideal for retirees or for people who want to raise a family in calm, peaceful surrounds.
The highlight is the Mt Rogers nature reserve, where you can often see kangaroos, kookaburras, lizards, and even the occasional echidna (just watch out for the brown snakes in summer!)
Mt Rogers provides an easy 2.5km walk around the mountain and a moderate climb to the mountain's summit. The reserve includes a walking track for dogs off-leash.
Fraser has modest local shops, comprising an independent grocery store, tavern, and Chinese takeaway. The neighbouring suburb, Spence, has a greater range of options (grocery store, hairdresser, butcher, chiropractor, and an award-winning bakery). Charnwood, a suburb a little further away, provides a major supermarket, post office, and fast food options. The major town centre, Belconnen, is about a 10-minute drive or 1-hour walk away.
For the kids, Fraser has lots of playgrounds, a local primary school, and quiet roads. Public transport via the network of ACTION buses is fair-to-good. Fraser is generally a safe suburb.
Gum trees, hills, mountains, and native wildlife; quiet and open roads; and accessible amenities, make Fraser a great place to live.

"Massive blocks with amazing fauna and florals"
Perched on the north west side of Mount Rogers, Fraser overlooks the farmland of New South Wales that borders the ACT. The homes are mostly of a 1970s multi level design, with high Cathedral ceilings and are set in well established native gardens on blocks ranging from 900 to 1200 square meters. The streets are nice and wide. Great shopping is nearby in the suburbs of Casey and Spence. It is very quiet and peaceful, the perfect place to raise a family.
