"Location, location"

This is a great suburb that most people don't give a second glance. But if you take the time, you'll find you're in for a pleasant surprise. The local shopkeepers are friendly and helpful. It's location is ideal, two train stations close by, only 35 minutes drive to an international airport, a five minute drive to get on the motorway to go to Ipswich, Brisbane or the Gold Coast. The Orion is Springfield is only a 10 minute drive. Goodna 5 minutes drive to Woolworths. We've been here 6 months and wonder what took us so long to get here. The best thing is that house prices are very reasonable, some may be a little tired but most are being renovated.

"Affordable living and close to amenities. I've been enjoying my time living here!"

Me and my wife bought a property to live in at Gailes and have lived here for over a year. I've found the neighbours to be really friendly, inclusive and supportive. It's an area that has good cultural diversity. There is a decent amount of local shops and fast food places to eat at
where we are and it's within walking distance to the train station at Goodna.

I have been surprised by how good the area actually is and very close to schools, shops and public transport. Getting into the Brisbane CBD for work takes me around 20-30 minutes depending on if you catch the express train or not (and really, there is a lot of express trains in the morning to Brisbane CBD which makes it really convenient)

For such an affordable area. We have FTTP NBN here and the internet speeds are awesome! A great place to raise a family or live a comfortable life.

"Friendly neighbors on all sides, quite street."

My partner and i bought our first house in Gailes last year, it was a run down post war home that needed some TLC. We were a bit skeptical about the location at first, but the street has been reasonably quite. The neighbors have also been lovely, mostly small families and retired couples. Gailes is also half an hour from Brisbane city, down the road from Springfield and close to public transport. For a cheap suburb its pretty good.

"Good investment area"

I have a friend who lives in Gailes they bought a queenslander in a nice quite street ,I thought Gailes was a horrible area , but there are some nice little tucked away pockets in Gailes, I found the neighbours were mainly over 50s and very nice, I think if you want a good buy you cannot go past Gailes it is a good investment.

"Quiet, economical living with friendly neighbours"

We have lived in Gailes for the past 11 years and have seen the suburb grow from a very low economic suburb to a suburb that has great potential for young home buyers. It's great seeing new mum's and dad's with their prams and their dogs going for their afternoon walk up our hill.
We have the local shops, with a doctor, chemist, takeaway, post office, convenience store, hardware and newsagent. We also now have great access to the upgraded Ipswich Motorway.
If you are looking for a quiet suburb to raise your kids, build up a bit of 'sweat equity' in one of the old housing commission properties only 30min from Brissy via train and 40min by car, then come to Gailes, I think you'll be suprised by what you find.
