Reviews of Greenhill, SA
"The perfect balance - A fantastic spot in the hill but only 9kms from the city"
This is a great place with a community spirit. Tennis courts, playground, walking tracks, koalas in your front yard and a local cfs unit. There is a family daycare in greenhill and bus service that connects with the city Monday to Friday - 30 mins door to door. Neighbours are friendly and welcoming. We have lived here for 3 years now and are so happy to call it home. Some gardens can need a bit of maintainence to keep safe so probably less appealing for seniors who cant be active.
We have our own water supply so its very cheap. Local community also get free green dumps all throughout the winter period. Greenhill rd properties dont get postal service - so need a po box but all other streets do. Classic car rally passes through once a year which can be fun to watch and its a haven for cyclists. Mount lofty look out, botanic gardens and walks just minutes away.
Have local schools in next suburbs - few minute drive away. 10 minute drive from crafers freeway and stirling shops. Even closer to Burnside village and Wattle park shops.
$20-25 taxi ride from the city for those not wanting to drink & drive

"Best of both worlds"
If you're after the peace and quiet of the Adelaide Hills with the convenience of city living then Greenhill is the place to be. As previous reviewers have mentioned a 5 minute drive and you find yourself in Burnside, head the other way and check out the range of highlights the hills has to offer right on your doorstep. Hills markets for shopping on weekend mornings, wineries for tastings and bushwalking trails to explore will all become part of your favourite things to do when living in Greenhill.
The best part of Greenhill has to be the tight knit community feel. While there's no shops in Greenhill itself this seems to keep the traffic down and although you're only just out of the city you feel a million miles away. Although Greenhill was viewed as a typically older suburb suited especially to retirees, the new children's playground and facilities are adding to the appeal of safe and affordable living for young families.
Several degrees cooler than the metro area in the peak of summer and the perfect place to curl up in front of the fire in the winter months Greenhill has definite appeal all year round.

"A nice location up on the hills face"
Well up Greenhill Road, winding your way into the hills is Greenhill. Steep slopes and just a few houses it’s not a bad area. There is a real neighbourly feel up here.
Public transport is non-existent, you’ll need to get down the hill. Once you’re down the hill you can get a bus but they don’t run all that frequently.
Given it is essentially perched on top of a hill there aren’t a lot of shops or schools in the immediate vicinity, its all down the hill.
The road down to the city is steep and windy so its not an area for people with trouble with heights. However, you can get some great views up here.
