Reviews of Lockleys, SA
"Review of Lockleys"
Lockleys is your average Western suburb, the suburb boasts a mix of classic and modern homes, providing options for various tastes and family sizes. One of Lockleys' standout features is the abundance of natural scenery, particularly the River Torrens Linear Park, which runs through the suburb. This park provides beautiful walking and cycling paths, open spaces, and recreational spots that contribute to the suburb's relaxed vibe. Lockleys also offers easy access to Henley Beach for coastal outings and West Beach for more beach activities. Although Lockleys has some local cafes and eateries, it lacks a bustling nightlife or a wide range of dining options. Residents often need to travel to nearby suburbs, such as Henley Beach or Adelaide’s CBD, for a more extensive selection of restaurants and evening entertainment.
Additionally, due to its central location and proximity to main roads like Henley Beach Road, Lockleys can experience traffic congestion during peak hours, particularly along routes leading into the city. The noise from nearby traffic can be an issue for homes close to major thoroughfares. Given its proximity to Adelaide Airport, some parts of Lockleys experience aircraft noise. While this isn't constant, it can be noticeable, especially for homes in the western part of the suburb. As a resident of the area, the planes during the night can be a disturbance.
Lockleys is a fantastic choice for those wanting a suburb with green spaces, family-friendly amenities, and a convenient location near both the city and the coast. Just be warned of the disturbances of planes and major high-traffic roads. It’s a suburb that appeals to people seeking a laid-back lifestyle without compromising on access to essential services and community-oriented features.

"A RAPIDLY CHANGING LANDSCAPE"
Such a lovely suburb that is being destroyed by development, and the greed of West Torrens Council. The lifestyle I bought into - charming character homes, gardens, tree lined streets, is no more. Old homes are being knocked down with ugly, modern, out of place, jam in as many as we can, buildings being erected in its place.

"Feel very lucky to live here, beautiful and safe suburb."
Where do I start? Linear Park is exquisite, it's beautifully maintained and picturesque and you can follow it to the beach or the city (amazing). The surrounding restaurants are divine and always busy for a reason, great food! There's Chicco Palms, La Vita, Third Time Lucky, Cheeky Chook. Henley Beach Road will either take you straight into the city, or straight to Henley Beach - 10 minutes each way, what's not to love? The public transport links are amazing (highly recommend living in a 'Go Zone'), I've never waited longer than 15 minutes for a bus. Spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping; this also includes vintage shopping with a thriving little hub happening on Grange Road at Findon. It's the best place I have ever lived. I feel very lucky to call it home.

"It's easy to live here..."
It's very easy to live in Lockleys, with everything in easy reach. There are lots of split blocks which means little to no gardens, but the is plenty of parks and other green space. Old properties on big blocks are often bought up by investors to be split which is a shame, families should have outdoor space to play and grow.

"Best Suburb between the beach and the city"
This suburb is just perfectly located between the city and Henley beach. Has some beautiful streets with gorgeous homes. Its a large suburb with some pockets better than others. Its the home of Kooyonga golf course one of Adelaide's best. Has plenty of primary schools in the area and very close to Underdale High. Just away from the flight path dont hear to much noise. Has the river as a boundry which is a great place for a walk or a bike ride. A little busy on the main roads after 4 but not too much to stress about
