The infrastructure around Ringwood is fantastic. Whatever you need for a community you can find here within a 10 minute radius. Schools, library, every shop you could ever dream of, bars, cinema's, and all genre's of cuisine. Dining varieties range from casual take away to the fantastic Firehouse Restaurant. Enjoy casual Sundays at any of the massive Ringwood Lake Park or a quiet stroll in the Heatherdale Reserve. Why not try your hand at lawn bowls, or if the kids are into sport there are venue's to cater and teams to join.

If you want a day by the sea, hop on Eastlink to Frankston - 35min trip or hit the city in 30mins. I was concerned about safety prior to moving here, but 5 years on I have not encountered anything sinister. In saying that I don't head near the Ringwood station at night. Heatherdale is a safer option.

Great restaurants, good access to transport, parklands and excellent schools

Ringwood really has everything that you ever need. Eastland has almost every major retail giant, plus high end fashion outlets as well as the more budget friendly shops, fresh food market, beauty retailers, entertainment (movies, bowling etc), fast food & restaurants. Easy access to public transport from anywhere with the train station in the heart of Ringwood as well as buses to any area of Melbourne, there is also usually a taxi or two waiting near the station if you need to get somewhere quickly. Access to the Eastern Freeway and Eastlink is easy, which will take you out to the Mornington Peninsula or Monash freeway within minutes. Plenty of good schools around to choose from, as there are many young families in the area. There’s even a few nightclubs for those that like the nightlife. I have grown up in the Eastern suburbs, and will never move anywhere else, Ringwood has it all!!

Great suburb: access to every shop you need (it's like a mini city these days), excellent infrastructure to everywhere-30mins to the dandenongs and CBD etc, lovely bushy feel. Everyone is friendly and the place is very safe.
Cons: many of the houses are old and need to be updated.

It is not surprising to see why Ringwood is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Eastern Melbourne. It is home to an array of Shopping Centres, especially the popular Eastland Shopping Centre. It offers a variety of eateries and a wonderful entertainment precinct. It has a lovely modern library adjacent and the convenience of the Ringwood Railway Station. Ringwood offers well-integrated sports facilities and clubs such as the Aquatic and Leisure Centre- Aquanation. Other attraction is the Crocs Playcentre with activities for children of all ages. Ringwood is also home to several reserves. Popularly is the Ringwood Lake which joins the Mullum Mullum Creek trail which is great for bike rides and walking trails. There is also a wide choice of schools in the area. Most commonly are the Ringwood Secondary College, Aquinas College and Yarra Valley Grammar. Ringwood is only 23km east of the city and has easy access to the Eastlink.

Having grown up in Ringwood North, I have personally seen the changes and development within the City of Maroondah.

Ringwood , Ringwood North and Ringwood East now have great infrastructure and have seen some great capital gains in the real estate sector. Ringwood central in particular have had many redevelopments and rezoning for high density developments.

The Ringwood property market is absolutely booming and for good reason! With the upgrade to Eastland Shopping Centre (which is amazing!!), Train station and Olympic diving centre, it has become very popular with young families/investors trying to get into the market.

The small pocket in-between Eastlink and Whitehorse Road is quickly being development with lots of apartment and townhouses being built. This part of Ringwood is popular with tenants due to a short walk to Eastland and the train station. Rental return is decent due to location, but due to amount being built competition can be fierce (overall leasing it will be ok for the right price).

Other parts of Ringwood offer quiet streets with big blocks (a lot of older houses), but still offer families and first-time buyers the chance to get into a great up and coming area.

Great things are happening to Ringwood and I see it becoming the next big place to be in Melbourne's South East.

I've lived here since 2007 and love it. Everything is within walking distance and so convenient. Ringwood is also improving due to the upgrade of Eastland, the station and Aquanation all finally underway. I work in Docklands (a suburb I dislike) so it's really nice to come home to a place with quiet, tree-lined streets...it's like a haven.
