Reviews of Streaky Bay, SA
"Unsafe and nosy peeps"
While staying in Streaky Bay we had jewelry stolen from our accommodation, fuel stolen from our car, we were nearly run off the road in town and we had to pay $100 to see the doctor. While some people seem friendly enough, lots are just plain nosy and seemed to be checking us out to see what they could nick. The place does seem geared to tourists with thousands of them camped everywhere over summer but you wouldn't want to live there - can't get a park to do a big shop and everything's SO expensive, can't drink the water, NBN drops out all the time, no mobile reception for nearly 2 weeks, lots of unemployed and now they're going to close the jetty from September 2024 to approx June 2025. Apparently council rates are nearly the most expensive in the state, fish stocks have been depleted, cheeky little brats run riot unsupervised, it's miles from civilisation and it looks like it's being paves and plasticated to look like every other town on the coast from Cairns to Broome. Sadly, it's no longer the lovely country town that it used to be so you may as well go to your closest seaside town which will be much cheaper and have the same offerings.
No, I actually lived and worked there and had nothing to do with realestate. Obviously everyones idea of Paradise is different and thats ok. I personally loved the quiet beautiful rugged coast, on the water and under it. The best seafood and some of the best people Ive ever known.
Think this was written by a real estate agent. Utter BS!
