Reviews of Tharwa, ACT
"A Town In Its Own Little World"
Tharwa is a small village of 109 people located 35 kms south of Canberra. Its sum total of buildings is a general store, The Saint Edmund's Church and a community hall. Public tennis courts are located in town. It also has its own cemetery. It still runs its own annual fair which all the community participate in. It has been faced with closure numerous times yet it always seems to survive and carry on. It is located in a lovely busy locale and would be a great place for someone wanting to get away from it all.
Great for

Not great for
- Fire Prone
- Isolated
- Lack of amenities
