How reliable are broadband services in Sunbury, Victoria?

We are going to move to Melbourne, Australia from USA in a month. Sunbury is one of the suburbs that we are considering to move due to its proximity to green hills and the quite countryside experience it offers. However I have read that it is very hard to get a broadband connection in Sunbury as there are no more slots/connections available for new customers. Is that true? I am primarily looking to rent a house in Sunbury for a few months. If the previous tenants already have broadband connection, does that mean that I can get broadband too? I have read that I need to find a house which is within 4.5 KM radius from the exchange. Wireless/USB broadband is not good for me as I have my job and a number of devices that depend on broadband. Please advice me whether Sunbury is a good choice for me.
