Rocky Point Road

"Don't hesitate to buy/rent! Here are my pros!"

Rocky Point Road isn't as busy as Princes Highway/Parramatta Road etc.
Have been living in a house there for nearly 3 years and before we bought I was googling sick about pros/cons about living on a mainroad.

The pros about living on Rocky Point Road are:

* you get to stay in the area you love without being pushed out it if you can't afford on the quieter roads
* rubbish bins get picked up first (so in they go before you leave for work)
* minimal illegal junk dumping due to the very public road and risk of getting reported
* clearways mean no illegal dumping of cars. and no cars/boats/vans hoarding the street that minimise street parking
* only one side of the road is subject to the clearway at each time (6am-10am Northbound | 3pm-7pm Southbound)
* Southbound side (my side) means not much disruption as morning traffic is on the otherside | afternoon traffic is during the afternoon/dinner time while TV / household noise
* weekends & public holidays are not subject to the clearways
* feeling safe knowing that hopefully less likely get broken into due to the public road / risk of being caught
* well lit road and well looked after footpaths (unlike other quieter roads in the area with minimal lighting and no footpaths)
* quick walking distance to Supabarn, Cafes, Beaches, Bus Stops
* quick access by car to get out on the road and get to Miranda/Princes Highway and the rest
* Lots of u-turn points

Con is simply the obvious... It's not a quiet street. The constant sound of cars can get annoying especially if you have always been on quiet streets. But in time it won't bother you. It's just like living in the inner west with all the planes. Other suburbs with trains/buses/noisy football parks/noisy neighbours!
Build a retaining wall, add hedges/trees/shrubs to the front garden (we had already). Shutters on the windows/ double glaze windows if needed (we don't).
Hoping the F6 will get the trucks off the road and a lot of the traffic heading to Shire/South Coast off. I'm sure it will help and won't make it worse.
