Sylvan Street

"Rural Living on the fringes of Sydney"

Sylvan Street is a quiet residential street within walking distance of schools and shops. The street is predominately occupied by younger families with some town houses close by with singles and professional couples. It is a reasonably mature area with some houses providing opportunity for modernisation but the area has a safe unhurried feel. The bush and associated wildlife are never far away and some properties at the southern end back onto natural reserves. Locals are inclined to greet each other and it is a very friendly area as most families will have children at one of the local schools. Both Galston High and Public schools are close by with the local shopping precinct a five minute walk. The village has a good medical centre, small library, dentist and the usual variety of shops without the busy traffic associated with urban areas, Hornsby with its larger Westfield Mall is an easy ten minute drive through the beautiful Galston Gorge. The nearest rail link is also in Hornsby. Castle Hill is fifteen minutes to the West with a large mall, cinemas and lots of restaurants. Galston is on the fringes of Sydney surrounded by beautiful National Parks. Wisemans Ferry on the Hawkesbury River and Berowra are an easy drive. Local amenities include Fagan Park with its beautiful gardens. There is a miniature railway nearby as well as the usual equestrian facilities expected in an area like this. You will never tire of the local fresh produce in particular fruit when in season and there are lots of garden centres and local growers surrounding the village. Galston lacks any significant nightlife but is very suitable for young families and retirees wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of urban city life.
