Nollamara

"Happy living where I am."

We have lived for a year where Ravenswood Dr meets Amelia St and so far we
Haven't had any personal bad experiences in regards to robberies/out of control neighbours
or intimidation by the locals.
Our street does seem to have alot of car and foot traffic. The cars drive too fast on our St (Carcoola St)
the council are placing speed bumps all through it in 2013. Foot traffic is great lots of families with their children
Or mums and children. Des Penman park seems to be kept in good condition when I have gone there with my toddler.
The local shops (IGA etc) are in below average shape in regards to both the physical upkeep and the company that may occasional hang there during the day asking if you have spare change ( has only happened once to me, found this particular person intimaditing but when I said I had no change she left me alone)
Very close to loads of shopping centres, recreational centres and pools. I do my food shopping at Innaloo but there is the Stirling shops, Karrinyup Mall,Morley Galleria, Innaloo Westfield, Mirrabooka square and Dog Swamp. Balga pool is lovely and only a less than 5 mins drive.
Handful of local childcare centres to choose from, we use Nollamara Day Care. Very homely and mature staff who keep very good communication with parents. But there is also 2 more in Mirrabrooka as well as Good learning start on Flinders.
I am happy with where I live in Nollamara. However I wouldn't say all of Nollamara is as good. We have good neighbours who are quiet but we have had a handful of nights where people have wandered past on the street yelling abuse to whomever is with them etc. But nothing which has needed police involvement, they are often just walking past.
Lots of take out places close at hand.
When we moved here we looked at all Internet providers only to find that Telstra are the only providers for this particular area (which in our opinion isn't so great as have found their service well below bad...but that's another review)
Hope this is helpful!

Hi Bella, Are you sure you can only get Telstra internet. I live in Yokine and its part of the Tuart Hill Telstra exchange. That covers all of Nollamara, Balcatta. I also recently inquired about moving my internet to Nolloamara in Woodchester and they said it was fine.

Hi Benny123, may I ask which provider you are with?
as for Internet providers we had enquired with Optus, Vodafone and Telstra. We wanted to sign with Optus and after three separate visits and dealing with three different people we were all ready to join when on the third visit were told we weren't able to as they don't cover where our address is (not all of Nollamara) and the only provider for our area was Telstra.
Our reception for cellphones is also bad with our reception bars always being between 1 and 2 bars and are only able to hear the calls clearly if we are at the front of the house. I am with Vodafone and my husband is with Telstra and we find out of the two my Vodafone phone receives better reception than his Telstra phone.
If I could have gone with another provider I certainly would have as Telstra at the time had the
more expensive plans and we were really set with joining with Optus.
Hope this helps :-)

Hi Bella, have you tried Vivid Wireless internet? I live at Carcoola St and the internet connection is usually fine, except for after 5pm until around 10pm workdays when the connection slows down (possibly everyone trying to get online after work). By the way what internet service provider are you using?
