Macleay Island
"So Impressed we purchased a block of land!"
We fell in love with it from the first time we went there. The Island has a good feel as soon as you step off the ferry from the mainland. We plan to retire in about 3 years time and we found the island has everything we need so we purchased a block of land in readiness for our retirement. Holidaying at first then building bit by bit. Love it!
Great for
- Lots of bird life, great for nature lovers
- Low crime rate, cost of housing
- Fantastic for boating, sailing, fishing, kyaking and jetski
- Peaceful, community spirit
- Sun, sea, sand. Life is a beach!
Not great for
- Don't come if you want a mainland lifestyle. It's different.
- Parking problems at ferry terminals
- Cost of commuting, many unsealed roads
