Auburn

"Grew up travelling to Auburn"

I can't believe the complete arrogance of some people on here. Firstly this hatred of immigrants is crazy so what if there are people of mixed back grounds here I've grown up in the west and assimilated into numerous cultures without any problem. One immigrant can also talk down about any posh eastern suburb, I've been to Bondi and you're right if your not white would you fit in? If you're not threatened by any race or religion which you shouldn't be then Auburn is completely fine. Problem is immigrants bring some aspects of there culture from overseas this includes daily life and how they do business sure it's not for everyone but hey it's how they perceive things should be and they do not need to be threatened or looked down upon by anyone it does take time for people to understand the Australian way and sooner or later it will happen. I used to travel to Auburn for high school and there was not one problem. It is a central location which makes it highly desirable give Auburn 5 years and it will be the Marrickville of now guaranteed.

Who lives here?

"Give Auburn five years and it will be the Marrickville of now." As someone who deserted this slum for the inner west, you have no idea what you're talking about. Yes, it is central and convenient, as stated in my review, yet more residents move on from this suburb than any other in Sydney (Source: ABS). Why do you think that is, comrade? My review does not mention race in any instance, but instead summarises the behaviour I witnessed over a year of living there. Some of the reviews do indeed mention race but that does not invalidate their criticisms. Many of them are common criticisms that my own review corroborates. Criticism of a suburb with a high Asian or Middle-Eastern demographic is not inherently racist, nor is going to school in a suburb however many years ago is the same as living there permanently, despite what you may arrogantly assume. Live in an apartment for a year or so, then get back to us. Who knows, you might be a "racist" under your own logic by then too.
