Yarraville

"Yarraville - Somewhat overated"

Yarraville has a nice village centre, however the traffic is terrible and often dangerous. The council is thinking about fixed cameras in the village to combat the problems. Good choices of cafe and restaurants. The Irish pub is horrible and very rough. There have been a few safely issues in Yarraville of late. Stabbings, robberies and murders. Although the suburb is becoming more gentrified, it still remains in the inner west - which is the rougher side of town.

This area has a lot of families but lacks infrastructure for these children. Childcare is virtually non-exsistent in this area - unless you put your child on the list before birth. Kindergarten places are similar - although not as tight. (You can leave it until the child is one before putting them on the list) The suburb boasts 3 primary schools (1 Catholic, 2 government) which all have really good reputations - however there are no secondary school in the immediate area. The closest secondary schools being Maidstone and Footscray. Yarraville does not fall in the Williamstown High catchment area.
