Lane Cove

"Paranoid..hush hush...u are just allowed to whisper..else the oldies will complain and send a rude letter at your door steps..."

Yes, this is exactly what me and my husband have been going through since the time we started renting at Burns Bay road..i have been living in this area for the last 3 years now, moved from Lane Cove North and now Lane Cove. DO NOT rent/live if you a young couple because it is only suitable for really old people or young families with kids. Lane Cove north is lovely nice and green, quiet. People are mostly young professionals. They all understand that maintaining peace is required but we can still have fun.
Pros:
Ample choice of shopping(both woolies n coles)
Traveling to and from city is a cake walk and also to other suburbs
Very SAFE
Cons:
It is like a curfew on any day after 6pm
People are rude and extremely unfriendly neighbors
Highly over priced even for old units/house that make u cry
Poor phone and data network over 3G(we had to escalate to ombudsmen)

Great for

  • Coles/woolies within 100meters between
  • Lane cove plaza, green playground
  • Library, pool, massive free parking

Not great for

  • Expensive rent
  • No kmart/target/dept store
  • No train (its a pro' actually)

Indeed. A cranky old woman had been complaining the noise from my TV all the time, even when I didn't have my TV on :(

Totally agree. Just gone for a coffee in this suburb for the first time & the people who live/work here are real uptight. Unfriendly with a capital 'u'.
