Kensington was a suburb i stumbled on after first moving to Melbourne 3 years ago, and after looking to buy in other inner city suburbs it offered great proximity, leafy streets, a village atmosphere and yet still only 4km from the CBD.

People are very friendly, neighbours are neighbourly and the old parts of Kensington are extremely well preserved. But look out as there is so much renovation happening it wouldn't be surprising to see prices starting to match those of other inner city hot spots.

If you want to live in the city, but still feel like you're away from it all, there aren't many suburbs that are better!
