The Std

"Fantastic amenities, tremendous views and a great community spirit - and all so close to the city"

There are only about 140 houses in all of Melbourne with views of the city over the water - of which 100 or so are on The Strand. The views are tremendous.

Easy access to terrific recreational facilities - Williamstown beach, numerous parks and gardens (including most of the foreshore), a bike path that goes all the way into the city & beyond, sports grounds, tennis clubs, skate park, etc. Three train stations in Willy and Newport, and the ferries to St Kilda and to Southgate make for very good public transport options. High quality shopping - both traditional strip, and shopping centres. Very good schools - public, private and Catholic, all within 2km 10km to the city. And all of this within a small self-contained community environment.

Demographically interesting and diverse - ranging from old timer seafaring types to blue collar and professionals.

Williamstown is a peninsula, and is therefore a destination - so there is no through traffic. Adds to the community feel.

All in all, one of the most family-friendly, interesting and comfortable places to live in all of Melbourne.
