Mill Street

"Best Residential Street in Ballarat"

Close to lake, excellent private schools, public and private hospital and the CBD. It has a great neighbourhood and very little through traffic but easy access. It is only a minute or two further by foot from Sturt St (where all the shops and cafes are located) compared with Webster St but much less traffic.
Mill St is quite so the kids can ride bikes outside and you can speak with the neighbors without the need to scream over the traffic noise. The neighbours are friendly and often seen outside cleaning the front yard and socialising with each other. Also a big plus is that Mill st is a direct and easy walk to the lakeview hotel, boat shed restaurant, lake wendouree viewpoint and boat sheds. Young kids riding bikes to school has a good crossing point which means better safety. However, the street is well lit at night which is great if going for a walk at night time but some might think it is too bright.

Great for

  • Good neighbors
  • Quiet but wide street
  • Close to schools CBD and lake.

Not great for

  • Can do with more trees
  • Due to close proximity to CBD people park there and walk to town and hospital
  • Well lit at night time and could be too bright for some people

Who lives here?
