My wife and I lived in this street for 6 months and actually broke our lease so that we could move elsewhere.

There are a number of medium density apartment blocks on the street that constantly seem to have trash out the front. There lighting is very poor at night, and there seems to be a reasonable flow of suspicious characters. During our stay we encountered people loitering in the alley behind our flat, and overdoses in the street.

Strangely, it is also impossible to order a taxi and have it arrive at the street. We were advised first hand from a taxi driver that they prefer to not do pickups from this street at night.

Carron Street is a quiet street in Coburg that is close to public transport and walking distance to Sydney Rd stores. It is also ideally positioned to access childcare facilities.

If you are a dog lover, there is canine a friendly park in Linda Street (just across the train lines). Given that you are unable to access the Coburg back streets from Carron, there is actually very little through traffic.
