"What a hole....."
After moving to Paynesville for an early retirement after years of planning I can't even begin to explain how disgusted we were in the locals. They are on average (there were a FEW exceptions of course) Racist, gossipping, lying, manipulating, greedy and down right nasty.... We left Paynesville so disillusioned with human nature that to this day we still have not recovered fully. Do not retire in Paynesville!!! The peple there will break your heart and your spirit. You only need to read the comments of "jimorth" to get a sniff of how nasty these town folk are.
Great for
- Access to great water recreation facilities
Not great for
- The locals ruin what should be a wonderful place...
- Needs more restaurants but this is slowly improving
- Town is dieing due to a select group of locals.
Have you left east gippland mate, the country is surrounded by proper beaches, not lake foreshores,
or sorry in new estate agent lingo beaches.

Haha, I have found the people of Paynesville very friendly and welcoming. Maybe your the problem.
You should catch up with Boobies and you can both cry into your Liptons tea. Being a much younger person, I find the Paynesville lifestyle fantastic. Where else can you get great watersports, sandy beaches ,good restaurants, a great little village pub and no traffic.
