St Kilda East is a fantastic little pocket of parks, cafe's, train stations, art deco apartments, houses and town residences full of artistic and professional types. St Kilda East sits between the Nepean Highway and Orrong Road and is bordered by Dandenong Road to the north and Glen Eira Road to the south. It's the precinct also known as Balaclava. The best coffee in Melbourne can be found on Carlisle Street along with a great variety of dining options. It is impossible to get bored in St Kilda East. There are beautiful parks, playgrounds, quirky shops and the beach is a twenty minute walk. It's a family friendly neighbourhood, although at night there is a more colourful side of life that emerges. All walks of life live in harmony in St Kilda East. I've lived in St Kilda East for around 7 years and I love that it's quiet but full of opportunity and creative people with positive energy. It's very friendly and very eclectic.
